In 2016, labour NGOs from Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan formed the Clean Clothes Campaign East Asia Coalition (CCCEA) to strengthen cooperation within the region to work on various issues, in particular, freedom of association, labour rights and occupational health and safety across countries.

The East Asia Coalition is monitoring transnational companies originating in East Asian countries, supporting supply chain justice cases, and now working with allies in the region to improve business and human rights policies.
