Which brands have signed the safety Accord?
In November 2023 brands and unions agreed on an International Accord that would continue the life-saving work to make factories safe that started after the Rana Plaza collapse in 2013. This agreement will enable further expansion of the work to other countries. All brands that sign the International Accord have to sign on to at least one country agreement. All of the brands that have not yet signed the Accord continue to put workers' lives at risk and we urge them to sign on as soon as possible.
The International Accord is signed by 267 brands. There are 135 signatories to the Pakistan Accord and 226 companies signed the Bangladesh programme. This overview was last updated on 11 June 2025. For the most recent update check the International Accord website.

About the Bangladesh Accord & the International Accord
The Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, established after the Rana Plaza collapse of 24 April 2013, has done crucial work to make factories in Bangladesh safer. It could do so because brands signed a legally binding agreement with trade unions obligating them to fulfil their promises. Despite the clear successes of the Accord, it took many months to negotiate a new agreement, but at the end of August 2021 the negotiating brands and unions finally announced an International Accord which allowed for expansion of the work beyond Bangladesh. In December 2022 the start of the Pakistan Accord was announced. In November 2023, after the first International Accord ran out, a new agreement was reached which is about to run for six years and enables expansion to more countries.
